Feuduccio
Il Feuduccio was established in 1995 and is located in a national park, “Parco Territoriale dell’Annunziata”, which is testimony to the area’s remarkable natural beauty and thriving vegetation.
The estate is owned and run by the Lamaletto family and is situated 450 meters above sea level. The vines are cultivated according to the severest criteria, with techniques such as pruning, green harvesting, canopy management, and manual grape selection being undertaken in order to produce the best quality fruit possible. Production is strictly limited to less than 2 kilos per vine. The clones were selected after painstaking soil analysis plot per plot, and 1800-2500 stocks were planted per acre.
The wine cellar is carved out of the rock and is five levels deep. The fermentation, barrique ageing and bottle ageing all take place 14 metres under the vineyard, with three tunnels made from local sandstone and handmade bricks leading to the cellar. There is a tasting room two levels above.
The combination of indigenous grape varieties (Montepulciano d’Abruzzo and Pecorino), concentrated crops, careful grape selection, advanced wine production techniques and maturation in barrique creates a range of superior quality wines with great ageing capacity and a unique character that cannot be recreated elsewhere.
